practice makes perfect

I really believe that practice makes perfect. Even at things we aren't even good at.

What am I practicing now? I am practicing being still. not having to be on 100% all the time. It's been just over 24 hours since i have had nothing to do. I haven't had to run to malls, buy gifts, pick up things, run errands, make jewelry, finish projects, rush to meetings, finish things.....Its odd when we get into the mundane life of running and running. Leading up to the holidays always has a lot of running around...and I sometimes forget to be still.

The last day. I have walked my dog. replenished my body with lots of water. read a whole book. took a nap with my dog and cat. called my mom for no reason. watched a movie. this....is what the next 10 days will be about....being still. and being with the moment.

I just love that you called your Mom for no reason. Have a wonderfully silent night. Sweet dreams, dear heart.

Bravo for you, you get the still award. I did very much the same thing this holiday, NO SHOPPING, NO BAKING, NO CLEANING and I think God is still o.k. with me.
